Art by Architects 3: Catalogue of works

Following the two successful exhibitions in 2016 and 2019, the Hellenic Institute of Architecture inaugurated on Saturday, April 20th at 7:00 p.m., at atelier kykladon (Kykladon 8, Kypseli) the 3rd Exhibition featuring artworks by Greek architects.

All works in the exhibition are donations from the architects and their families, with the proceeds from their sale intended to financially support the HIA.

The exhibition presents 40 paintings and constructions by 21 architects. The event was organized by architects Theodora Alexandri, Elias Constantopoulos, and Dionisis Sotovikis.

Also participating are visual artists VANA XENOU and ILIAS PAPAILIAKIS.

The exhibition took place at the exhibition space on 8 Kykladon Street in Kypseli, which was the residence-studio of the sculptor Ioanna Spiteri. This important building was designed in 1955 by Aristomenis Provelengios, renovated in 2009 by Dionisis Sotovikis, and stands as an excellent example of modern Greek architecture.

The photographing of the works and the subsequent editing of photos by Konstantinos Kosmas, Elias Constantopoulos, Vassilis Bogakos, Ilias Papailiakis, Galateia Patsouri, Iakovos Rigos, and Dimitris Filippidis was carried out by Babis Louizidis and Katerina Glinou as a contribution to the HIA.

The photography documenting the implementation of the works by Marianna Xyntaraki and Lida Voutsina was done by Elli Vassalou.
