Art by Architects 2

The Hellenic Institute of Architecture organised an exhibition–auction of visual artworks by Greek architects at Atelier Kykladon (8 Kykladon St., Kypseli).

The exhibition will run from Wednesday, April 10, 2019, to Friday, April 19, 2019.

OPENING HOURS: Tue–Fri: 17:00–20:00,  Sat–Sun: 11:00–16:00

On Friday, April 19 at 19:30, a closing party was held to mark the end of the exhibition and the completion of the auction.

The exhibition featured 60 paintings and constructions by 30 architects, whose presence in Greek architecture spans from the 1930s to the present day. The event was curated by architects Elias Constantopoulos, Christina Papadimitriou, Dionisis Sotovikis, and Sofia Tsiraki.

The exhibition-auction took place at Atelier Kykladon 8, the exhibition space on Kykladon Street in Kypseli, which used to be the residence-studio of the sculptor Ioanna Spiteri. This important building was designed in 1955 by Aristomenis Provelengios, renovated in 2009 by Dionysis Sotovikis, and stands as an excellent example of modern Greek architecture.

All works in the exhibition were donations from the architects and their relatives.
The proceeds from the auction were allocated to the financial support of the H.I.A (Hellenic Institute of Architecture).
