Kengo Kuma: Onomatopoeia Architecture
24.01 – 15.03.2025
The exhibition “Onomatopoeia” by the distinguished architect Kengo Kuma was held from January 24th to March 15th at the Former Public Tobacco Factory in Athens.
The exhibition, which included models of iconic works by the Japanese architect, offered a multisensory experience that highlighted the phonetic dimension of materials and focused on Kuma’s engagement with Onomatopoeia, that is, the formation of words through the imitation of sounds.
The exhibition was supported by the Hellenic Parliament, the Hellenic Institute of Architecture, and the Embassy of Japan in Greece, and was organized by Medexpo and the Technical Chamber of Greece (TCG) in collaboration with Kengo Kuma and Associates.
