Synchronicities: The Architecture of Rena Sakellaridou

The architecture magazine ek organized an event dedicated to architect Rena Sakellaridou at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) on Friday, December 15, 2023, under the auspices of the Hellenic Institute of Architecture.
Rena Sakellaridou is undoubtedly one of the most prominent Greek female architects, with a strong presence in the country’s architectural scene, having already left a significant mark, primarily on the urban landscape. She is a professor at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, a founding member of the architectural firm SPARCH, and currently leads her own practice, RS SPARCH.
Her extensive body of work, both individual and collaborative, spans nearly all building types and scales, and is distinguished by its high quality, having received numerous awards both in Greece and internationally. Rena Sakellaridou has won more than 26 architectural competitions, and her work has been featured in 37 exhibitions, including the Venice Biennale, the Milan Triennale, DAM Frankfurt, NAi Rotterdam, RIBA, among others.
Her buildings have been nominated for the Mies van der Rohe Award as well as the arcVision Prize for women in architecture.
