Urban Box

It is a multi-purpose structure, intended for uses such as the sale of products (e.g. newspapers, performance tickets) or the provision of information. The structure will be placed in outdoor public spaces, such as a square or a pedestrian street, and must be clearly visible from a distance. The construction will consist of a closed space that can accommodate one person and must be able to secure its interior. The Urban Box must be assembled on-site and easily installed without requiring significant ground adaptations, so that it can also be disassembled and removed without leaving permanent traces.
EVALUATION CRITERIA:
- The adaptability of the Urban Box to different uses
- The ease of assembly/disassembly of the structure
- The assurance of comfortable working conditions for the user of the Urban Box
- The cost-efficiency of the construction and transportation of the project
- The architectural quality of the proposal and the incorporation of bioclimatic design principles
ELIGIBILITY FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE COMPETITION:
All undergraduate students of Greek Schools of Architecture who had not graduated by the submission deadline were eligible to participate in the competition. Excluded from the competition were any individuals involved in the preparation and drafting of the competition brief, members of the jury, as well as individuals who are professionally connected to or related by first degree to the aforementioned parties.
