COMPETITION ANNOUNCEMENT
1.GENERAL TERMS
The Hellenic Institute of Architecture, as part of its activities for the promotion of contemporary Greek architecture, is announcing competition to select projects for the 7th Biennale of Young Greek Architects, that will take place in December 2012 at the Benaki Museum. The aim of the Biennale of Young Greek Architects, is to gather a representative sample of the work of young architects, to prominence new creators and to exchange ideas regarding the development of architectural thought and the production of architectural work in Greece today.
The Biennale accepts entries from architects up to 45 years of age, which concern two sections: a) implemented projects and b) non-implemented proposals, provided that they correspond to actual design assignments (including projects that have been awarded to competitions). The submission of student work is not allowed. At the exhibition venue a series of open discussions will be organised, with invited speakers, aiming at a critical evaluation of all the works.
The selection of the proposals to be exhibited will be made by the architects: Katerina Giamalaki, Stavro Gyftopoulo, Pano Dragona, Niko Kalogera and Anastasio Kotsiopoulo. An alternate member of the committee will be the architect Panagiotis Pagkalos. The architect Elias Constantopoulos has been responsible for the curation and the design of the 7th Biennale.
