Call for applications for the position of Director of the H.I.A.

The Hellenic Institute of Architecture invites expressions of interest for the position of Director of the Institute.

Candidate Requirements

Applicants must:

• Be licensed architects.
• Have excellent knowledge of Greek and English.
• Be proficient in computer software for text and design processing (Word, Excel, Photoshop, Illustrator, AutoCAD).

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The Director organizes and coordinates the Institute’s architectural activities, which focus on “the development and promotion of architecture in our country and its dissemination in Greece and abroad through exhibitions, lectures, seminars, conferences, publications, awards, competitions, and any other suitable means.”

The Director supervises all operations of the Institute and is responsible for its overall functioning, including the planning, development, and submission of activity programs to the Board of Directors. The Director also contributes to sponsorship acquisition for events and is jointly responsible (with the Institute’s Treasurer) for financial monitoring, as well as for any other duties assigned by the Board of Directors.

• A CV (maximum 300 words) including a photo.
• Copies of academic degrees in architecture.
• Copies of foreign language certificates.

APPLICATION DEADLINE

The deadline for submitting applications is Thursday, June 21, 2018.

Candidate interviews before the Committee appointed by the Board will be held on Friday, June 22, and if necessary, on Monday, June 25 (a specific invitation will follow). Final candidates may be invited to a second interview with the Board of Directors on Friday, June 29.

The selected candidate will begin part-time training in July, in order to be briefed on the Institute’s operations before the departure of the current Director, Ms. Marianna Milioni.
