Farewell to Maximos Chrysomallidis
29.05.2019
A few days ago, Maximos Chrysomallidis, a prominent architect and professor in the Department of Architecture at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, passed away. Maximos Chrysomallidis designed a large number of buildings and was recognized in approximately 50 architectural competitions, including first prizes for the Lazarist Monastery in Thessaloniki, the coastal complex of the University of Thessaly, the T.E.E. building in Volos, among others. He was also a notable photographer with solo exhibitions and taught architectural design in Thessaloniki for decades, passing on to his students his views on the aesthetic and social dimensions of architecture. The Hellenic Institute of Architecture extends its deepest condolences to his family.
