11th Biennale of Young Greek Architects: Announcement

The Hellenic Institute of Architecture, as part of its activities to promote contemporary Greek architecture, announces a competition for the selection of works for the 11th Biennale of Young Greek Architects. The goal of the Biennale events is to gather a representative sample of the activities of young architects, to highlight new creators, and to exchange views regarding the development of architectural thought and the production of architectural work in Greece today.

The Biennale accepts submissions from architects up to 45 years old, including completed projects as well as unbuilt proposals, provided that they correspond to real commissioned studies or awards in competitions. Student projects are not permitted. All submissions will be published and presented in a related catalog issued by the Hellenic Institute of Architecture, and the selected works will be presented in detail. Concurrently, a symposium with invited speakers will be organized at the exhibition space, aiming at a critical evaluation of the collection of works.

The five-member jury consists of Anastasios Kotsiopoulos, Emeritus Professor at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.Th.) (chair), Anastasios Tellios, Professor at A.U.Th., Konstantinos Moraitis, Professor at the National Technical University of Athens (N.T.U.A.), Morpho Papanikolaou, Architect IUAV, and Dimitris Thomopoulos, Associate Professor at A.U.Th. Alternate members are Stavros Gyftopoulos, Professor at N.T.U.A., and Alkmini Paka, Professor at A.U.Th.

The exhibition will take place at the Tellogleio Foundation of Arts in Thessaloniki, co-organized with the Department of Architecture of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, from December 16, 2023, to January 14, 2024, alongside the publication of the catalog.
