ΒΙΕΝΝΑLΕ 12 of Young Greek Architects: Competition Announcement

The Hellenic Institute of Architecture, as part of its activities aimed at promoting contemporary Greek architecture, announces a call for project submissions for the 12th Biennale of Young Greek Architects, in collaboration with the Department of Architecture of the University of Patras.

The aim of the events of the Biennale of Young Greek Architects is to present a representative sample of the work and activity of young architects, to highlight emerging creators, and to encourage the exchange of ideas regarding the development of architectural thought and the production of architectural work in Greece today.

The 12th Biennale of Young Greek Architects accepts submissions from architects up to 45 years of age (born in 1981 or later for all participants). Submissions may include both completed projects and unbuilt proposals, provided they correspond to actual commissioned studies or have received distinctions in competitions. Student projects are not eligible for submission.

The five member jury that will evaluate the submitted applications consists of:

Georgia Daskalaki, Architect, DP Architects
Demetra Katsota, Professor, Department of Architecture, University of Patras
Leonidas Papalampropoulos, Assistant Professor, Department of Architecture, University of Patras
Vangelis Stylianidis, Architect, Member of the Board of Directors of H.I.A.

The alternate (substitute) members of the jury are Dionisis Sotovikis, Architect, Member of the Board of Directors of the H.I.A., and Thanasis Manis, Assistant Professor with a term at the Department of Architecture, University of Patras.

The exhibition showcasing the selected projects from the competition will take place in Patras in May 2026, alongside the publication of the exhibition catalog. All submitted entries will be published in a catalog issued by the Hellenic Institute of Architecture (H.I.A.), with detailed presentations of the awarded projects. In parallel, a symposium will be organized at the exhibition venue, featuring invited speakers, with the aim of critically assessing the overall body of work presented.
